Tron network growth

The Tron Foundation has announced a very important new partnership: Tron will partner with the important blog and social networking website based on blockchain, Steemit, with the aim of providing the Tron network for the services offered by Steemit. Formerly Steemit and other decentralized applications (DApps) were working on the Steem blockchain. Along with the movement of the applications to the Tron network, the change from the old Steem token (STEEM) to a new STEEM token based on the Tron blockchain will be included. Both cryptocurrencies had an important upward movement after the news of their association was known: STEEM accounted for 26% and Tron for 10%.

Justin Sun, founder and CEO of Tron, explained that this new partnership will allow greater development of companies that offer decentralized social networks to their users. The co-founder and president of Steemit, Ned Scott, said: "Since the launch of the platform in 2016 with a very small budget until today, I have enjoyed the development of the platform and the growth of its user base, now I am excited to see to a strategic partner try to take it to new heights."

Currently, Tron has more than 800 DApps operating in its ecosystem and is emerging as an important competitor of the Ethereum network that leads in the amount of DApps operating in its network. However, the partnership with Steemit will provide Tron with a solid user base since, according to data from SimilarWeb, Steemit had more than 7.8 million visits in January 2020. Steemit's chief of communications, Andrew Levine, said: "Many people believe that we have been unemployed for the past year, but we have worked hard on our infrastructure, including Hivemind, Mira, and with the communities in Steemit."
