Optimism for Bitcoin and some altcoins like Ripple
The cryptocurrency market begins to show clear signs that a new uptrend will begin. Bitcoin is clearly the strongest cryptocurrency within the crypto market, however some altcoins like Ripple (XRP) intend to compete for that position.
Pessimistic or optimistic?
The CEO of the merchant cryptobank Galaxy Digital, Mike Novogratz, has made a series of publications on his official Twitter account on February 6 in which he delivered modest praise to the altcoin Ripple (XRP). On his Twitter account, Novogratz said: "This year the wider altcoins market, including $ XRP has surpassed $ BTC. This has surprised me ... That said, I see more and more large accounts that are educated and established to be accumulators of $ BTC and I think that on a tight risk basis it is the best place to bet on cryptocurrencies. " Novogratz said he has long been positioned in Bitcoin (BTC) for 15 months and believes that Bitcoin will easily exceed USD 10,000 in the coming weeks or months.
During the national conference, LINC 2020, from TD Ameritrado in Florida, Novogratz criticized XRP for predicting "immensely lower" performance in 2020. However, one day after the conference, Novogratz praised the activities of Ripple and its CEO Garlinghouse , almost contradicting what he had said the day before: "GLXY is a great investor in Ripple Labs. I would like to see them do well. @bgarlinghouse has done a great job as CEO."
Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple, received several criticisms for the amount of XRP held by Ripple and the possible manipulation of its price. Garlinghouse replied: “Yes, Ripple owns a lot of XRP, we are very interested in the success of XRP, but the accusations that we are dumping… We don't even have to do that […]. We would never do that and, in fact, we have taken steps to save most of the XRP we have in warehouses so that we cannot touch them.”
