Justin Sun spoke of "malicious actors" within the Steem community
Justin Sun, founder of Tron and recent acquirer of Steemit Inc., participated in Virtual Blockchain Week (VBW) and gave his version of what happened after the acquisition of Steemit Inc. and the subsequent bifurcation that separated the community into two: those who rejected Justin Sun's actions migrated to Hive (HIVE) and the others continue to support the Steem protecto (STEEM).
In short, the Steem fork occurred after Justin Sun was accused of acquiring Steemit Inc. along with 20% of STEEM's total token supply in order to achieve relative control of the network. A good part of the community did not agree with this situation and decided to start a fork called Hive. Sun asserts that you cannot speak of an acquisition: the relationship between the Tron Foundation and Steemit Inc. is one of association according to him. During the talk, Justin Sun said: "Steemit Inc takes a certain percentage of the tokens within the Steemit ecosystem, and also Steemit.com is one of the most important applications in the Bitcoin [...] ecosystem, as Steem is definitely decentralized, but [some] of the companies have a lot of Bitcoin. That's the relationship between the company and the Steem blockchain."
The dispute between Justin Sun and some sectors of the Steem community reached its peak when the support of major exchanges such as Binance and Huobi was known to oust former Steem node operators. The rejection reaction of much of the community was instantaneous and soon after the exchanges withdrew their votes explaining that they were unaware of the actions that Justin Sun was taking with the Steem node operators. Justin Sun discussed the reasons why I took such actions: "When Hive executes the hard fork, they actually freeze up and take all the funds from those people who disagree with them, not just us, the community of Korea and China simply take their funds on the Hive blockchain."
