Chapecoense and USD Soccer
Undoubtedly, a day remembered by all football fans is the day that the tragic accident of the plane that transported the final team of the South American Cup of 2016, the Chapeoense club, occurred.
On November 28, 2016, the Brazilian soccer club Chapecoense traveled to the Colombian city of Medellin to play the final of the South American Cup. During the flight that transported them from the Bolivian city of Santa Cruz, the plane ran out of fuel and crashed a few kilometers to reach the airstrip in Medellin. In the accident, 71 of the 77 occupants died, including 19 soccer players.
Today, Chapecoense is news for its relationship with the world of cryptocurrencies. The Brazilian club has received an investment from a company that is behind the USD Soccer token (USDSC), a cryptographic token based on Ethereum's Blockchain technology. The amount of investment is 1.4 million US dollars, which will allow the club to pay debts resulting from the tragedy that occurred in 2016 and also current expenses such as salaries and image rights.
This is further proof of the great utility of cryptocurrencies in almost all areas of life!
